First United Methodist Church will hold candlelight Christmas Eve services Monday, December 24 at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. The 11 p.m. service will include traditional communion service.
Any students sixth grade and above who would be interested in participating in a confirmation class, please contact Kary McAtee at 304-642-0518. The class is expected to start in February and will last approximately nine weeks. Any adults willing to be mentors, provide snacks or assist in lessons and activities can also contact Kary.
Backpack Food Program
When school is in session we meet to pack backpacks on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. on the stage in the Family Life Center. We are collecting new backpacks and food items to include: granola bars, individual packets of oatmeal, canned meals, fruit cups, veggie cups, snack cracker packs and pudding cups. Please drop off your items in the bin marked “BACKPACK PROGRAM” by the Church office. Monetary, school supplies and food donations are always appreciated.
The Bible Study groups meet every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the parlor. Everyone is welcome. For more information, please call the church office at 304-636-0660.
Healthy Ministry Team
Everyone is invited to walk in the Family Life Center every Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. At 9 a.m. we will have a devotion for 15 minutes. What a great way to start the day. Everyone walks at their own pace, some enjoy the time to walk alone and listen to the Christian music playing in the FLC, others enjoy the Christian fellowship as they walk, talk and laugh. Come join us!
After collecting data from a survey, one of the interests on the survey was to do “fun things together,” such as bike riding, hiking and fun activities in Christian fellowship. If you have an interest, contact the church office for more information. All are welcome.
All men are welcome to the Men's Breakfast every Thursday at 6:30 a.m. at McDonald's for faith, food and fellowship.
We Care Ministries
FUMC’s We Care ministry is an outreach program for senior citizens in our community. If you have any Thinking of You cards that you would like to donate, please bring them to the Church office for the We Care Group.
