Backpack Food Program
We are continuing to accept food and monetary donations for the Backpack Program for the needy children of Randolph County. A select few are able to meet with school officials to disburse the backpacks in order for these children to continue receiving food. You may drop your food items off at the mahogany doors from 9am – 3pm Monday through Thursday and 9am – 12pm Friday. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping each other safe and healthy. The packing group is not meeting at this time.
When school is in session we meet to pack backpacks on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. on the stage in the Family Life Center. We are collecting new backpacks and food items to include: granola bars, individual packets of oatmeal, canned ravioli, fruit cups, veggie cups, snack cracker packs and pudding cups. Please drop off your items in the bin marked “BACKPACK PROGRAM” by the Church office. Monetary, school supplies and food donations are always appreciated.
The Mission Team is collecting the following items for the Lighthouse Community Recovery Home: backpacks, toothpaste and toothbrush, Old Spice deodorant (solid), black combs, bar deodorant soap, disposable razors (a couple for each backpack), boxer briefs size XL, white short socks size XL, white t-shirts size XL and black shower shoes (Walmart – size 10-10 1/2 ) cost is $9.99. For more information, contact Kim Urban at 304-636-5534.
Pioneer Club is not meeting at this time.
Pioneer Club meets every Thursday at 5 p.m. for supper, craft, bible lesson and prayer time. Tutoring is offered at 4:30 p.m. This Christ-centered program integrates spiritual and personal development to help children in kindergarten through 5th grade build healthy relationships with caring Christian adults, peers and, most importantly, Christ. And most of all, Pioneer Club is fun! Christ has placed on our hearts to spread his word and to be his hands and feet. We are called to “LOVE AND TO FEED THE CHILDREN." To not only feed a meal to fill their tummy but to feed the word.
People were bringing little children to Jesus to have Him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, He was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And He took the children in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them. – Mark 10:13-16 (NIV)
If you feel Christ is calling you to serve but you are not sure how there are many opportunities with Pioneer. Whether your gifts are to serve in the kitchen, tutor homework, teach a bible lesson or participate in crafts, games or music, there is a place to serve. We are inviting loving adults to be “mentors” once a week to read to a child or have a child read to them. Sit and enjoy a meal, talk with the children and most important pray for them throughout the week. If you have an interest in volunteering, contact Shelley Hyre at 304-704-7039 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

YouTube Live Stream
To view the live stream of FUMC 11 a.m. services, follow these instructions:
There is a simple way to always know when a YouTube video stream is coming live. YouTube allows you to be notified of any live video stream of your choice as soon as it goes live. For this to work, you have to open the live video stream for the Sunday Service that has already occurred. Indicate that you want to be notified of the live stream when it happens by clicking on the small bell like icon next to the “Subscribe” button below the video frame. About two minutes before the start of the next live stream from our Church, you will be sent an e-mail indicating that the church service will begin soon.
